Izolyator Company (Russia) and Mehru Electrical & Mechanical Engineers (P) Ltd. (India) endorsed an agreement on establishing a joint venture for manufacture of high-voltage bushings with solid RIP insulation

september 6, 2018

In the course of CIGRE 47th Session in Paris, the Izolyator Company (Russia) and Mehru Electrical & Mechanical Engineers (P) Ltd. (India) entered on August 27, 2018 into an agreement on strategic cooperation and interaction within the framework of implementation of a project on establishing a joint venture (JV) for launching a production of high-voltage bushings with solid RIP insulation in the territory of India.

The document was signed by Mr. Alexander Slavinsky, Chairman of the Board of Directors, Izolyator Company, and Sandeep Prakash Sharma, Executive Director, Mehru Company.

The signing ceremony took place at the stand of the Russian National Committee of CIGRE in the presence of the Chairman of Russian NC of CIGRE, Chairman of the Management Board of PJSC FGG UES Andrey Murov and the Chairman and Managing Director Power Grid Corporation of India Limited, Chairman of Indian NC of CIGRE Mr. Jha.

The agreement institutes the principles of complete production cycle organization in the territory of India and further manufacture of various class high-voltage bushings with state-of-the-art solid RIP insulation. The main constructional part, as well as know-how of the JV will be inner RIP insulation of the Izolyator Company in-house design. It has to be noted that this is the first experience of Russian companies in establishing a joint venture with Indian companies for high-voltage power-generating machinery production.

Friendly relations in the years since the Soviet Union, positive dialogue between the Federal Grid Company of Unified Energy System of Russia and the Power Grid Corporation of India Limited State Company, as well as successful work of Izolyator Company in the energy market of India have made it possible to go on with sharing of experience between the grid companies and expand cooperation among industrial enterprises of the two countries.

Izolyator Company is the global leader in the area of development and manufacture of high-voltage bushings for the voltage ranging from 20 to 1150 kV. In its history of 120 plus years the enterprise produced over 620 thousand high-voltage bushings which are in service throughout the vast majority of power sites in Russia and CIS as well as in 30 rest-of-world countries. Izolyator is the key partner of the CIGRE RNC and basic enterprise for the CIGRE RNC SC D1 “Materials and development of new testing methods and diagnostic tools”.

The highest level of performance in compliance with international standards is what gives Izolyator Company an advantage over other power equipment manufacturers.

Constructive dialogue with Russian and Indian colleagues is yet another important fact emphasizing thoughtfulness, openness and interest in the development of long-term and mutually beneficial partnership relations.
