At the NGN Forum Russia has presented the structure of the online platform aimed at international scientific cooperation between students - young engineers and companies
The key topics discussed at the NGN Forum organized on the 23rd of August by NGN Russia were the following:
- contribution of young professionals in the future of power grids;
- direction of companies’ development and industry expert cooperation of global network in order to integrate ideas and young professionals potential;
- successful experience of inclusion of young people in the CIGRE Study Committee’s activity.
In his presentation, NGN IEC Vice-Chair Stanislav Eroshenko highlighted the positive experience of cooperation between NGN Russia and 22 technical partner universities, main directions, goals and work formats, including: results and potential promotion of science and engineering background, support of students’ cooperation and their contacts with companies and academic community aimed at career prospects realization, annual scientific and educational activities organization, as well as benefits for CIGRE young members in the field of education, science, professional and soft skills development.
During the Forum NGN Russia has also presented the project of online platform. This is a mechanism, ensuring mutually beneficial cooperation of companies, Study Ñommittees and students. The project is intended for two-way communication between companies with specific industry-related tasks and students potentially interested in fulfilling those tasks (CIGRE Industry-University Partnership Platform (IUPP). The suggestion of creation of this digital system for scientific exchange was announced at the meeting of CIGRE management with NGN Russia representatives during REW-2019. This idea was significantly elaborated and approved at the international level.
The representatives of NGN Japan, Australia, Ireland and US told about planned events, scientific research and advantages of international scientific cooperation in CIGRE.
The President of CIGRE Michel Augonnet answered the questions raised by the young audience. He told about the role of NGN for the past 14 years, young professionals’ input and aspirations.
The contribution of NGN Russia was highly appreciated by NGN community and by young CIGRE members from 26 countries that are actively participating in international NGN activities.
