Federal Grid Company joins #BrighterTogether youth day of Russian Energy Week 2019

The delegation of FGC UES (Rosseti Group) comprised 15 specialists who took part in the preparation of the Youth Forecast of development of the Russian energy sector for cybersecurity. The #BrighterTogether youth day included discussions, presentations and meetings with decision makers as well as events of the Russia NGN organized with the company's support.

The #BrighterTogether youth day agenda comprised 30+ diverse events, which were attended by ~3 thousand people. Among them were the 2nd Summit of the BRICS Youth Energy Agency, the interdepartmental meeting on promotion of energy saving and engineering education for the youth, and the nationwide youth industrial meeting #BrighterTogether. A key event was the shirt-sleeve meeting with the Minister of Energy of Russia Aleksandr Novak and the Minister of Science and Higher Education Mikhail Kotyukov.

The #BrighterTogether youth day also hosted the finals of the contest of papers on subjects of the 48th Session of CIGRE, the biggest international engineering association in the electrical power industry. The authors of the best works will be considered as candidates to participate in the Session of the organization in 2020 in Paris. The contest is held in accordance with the plan of joint work of Federal Grid Company and System Operator on the basis of the activities of the Russia NGN.

Besides, the final of the All-Russian competition of qualification works of masters and bachelors of technical universities on electric power and electrotechnical subjects, on which 430 works were presented, took place. The event is held annually under the auspices of the Russia NGN with the support of Rosseti Group, Federal Grid Company and System Operator.

On the youth day platform, with the participation of executive managers of FGC UES (Rosseti Group), the UK National Committee of CIGRE, and NRU MPEI, the awarding ceremony of the 2nd International Student Electric Power and Electrical Engineering Olympiad winners was held.

Competitions of the young professionals league of the International Engineering Championship CASE-IN, where the Federal Grid Company's team took its part, were held on the sidelines of the #BrighterTogether youth day. The project is part of the "Russia: Land of Opportunity" platform created at the initiative of Russian President Vladimir Putin. This event gave a start to the autumn CASE-IN Cup, a new wave of competitions for solving engineering cases, in which by the end of the year more than 2 thousand schoolchildren, students and young professionals will be involved in solving topical problems of the fuel and energy sector in Russia.
